What is Functional Medicine?
Conventional, or allopathic medicine identifies a disease label that matches the symptoms, then provides medications or surgery. Conventional allopathic medicine excels at addressing acute illness and injuries. Many have less satisfactory experiences with chronic and degenerative conditions, including those typically thought of as relating to aging. This is where functional medicine excels.
Functional medicine is a patient-centered, science-based personalized approach to healthcare. It is focused on the assessment, prevention and treatment of the underlying causes of illness rather than simply managing the symptoms. At LeBlanc Chiropractic, I take an integrative approach to health care with the addition of the latest in laboratory testing technology, not currently being used in conventional practice. We measure imbalances and/or deficiency in areas such as: food sensitivities; neurotransmitters; gut health, adrenal function; detoxification; inflammation; microbial dysfunction; hormones; genetics and environmental exposure. The list is much more extensive. This allows us to devise real solutions to your chronic health challenges.
Everyone has their own individual makeup and life history and solutions have to be personalized.
We have seen dramatic success with chronic and degenerative conditions by incorporating gentle chiropractic adjustments and functional medicine with nutrition and detoxification strategies.
